OTTUMWA — Charmaine J. Sage, 73, of Ottumwa, passed away in the still of the night on November 5, 2014, at Vista Woods Care Center.She was born January 13, 1941, in Ottumwa to Vernal and Madeline Mary Bukowski Leedall. She married Ronald W. Smith on March 9, 1957. They later divorced. She married Bob Sage on June 19, 1999.A resident of Ottumwa most of her life, she had lived in Oelwein for a short time before moving back to Ottumwa.Charmaine was a loving mother and housewife. She was very artistic, had a talent for decorating and loved her children and the Lord.Surviving are a daughter, Laura (Jeff) Salter of Ottumwa; a son, Ronald Ray Smith of Davenport; two grandchildren, J.C. Salter of Ottumwa and Sadie Smith of Iowa City; a great-grandchild, Kendra.She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Clifford Eugene “Coss” Leedall and Roger Michael Ledall.Graveside services and burial will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday at McCormick Cemetery near Highland Center with Rev. Marthana Newland officiating. A celebration of life will follow at Hotel Ottumwa.Memorials may be made to Hospice serving Davis and Wapello Counties at 927 Pennsylvania Ave. Ottumwa, Iowa 52501.
